Hi!

Sorry. This will not help you, but maybe you can use this information anyway.

I once got two used DIMMs of SDRAM PC133 from a PC and wanted to use it in a
Power Mac Quicksilver. The serial numbers printed on the chips showed that
they where produced in sequence, and therefor they must have been bought
together. They worked well in the PC.

Now comes the riddle:
How come, one worked in the Quicksilver and the other didn't? I swapped them
around in the slots but nothing worked.

Don't know why the one wasn't recognized at all, while the other worked well.

Maybe you will have to accept the fact that the Power Macs are kind of picky
when it comes to memory.
If you buy used SDRAM it is always good that the seller guarantees the memory
modules will work in a Power Mac. So you can return it and get your money
back, like you would in this case.

Regarding density: I've never been able to distinguish high density modules
from low density ones. How can I? Is it written somewhere? And why the hell
did my Mac take only one out of two _in squence_ produced DIMMs?

Cheers,
Andreas.
