Howdy,
I use NoScript and strongly recommend it. It is the main reason I
stay with Firefox, instead of spending time with Safari or Chrome.
When you install it, scripts from almost all domains are turned off by
default. They whitelist a few domains out of the box, and I usually
delete most of those from the whitelist. When you visit a page where
something does not seem to work the way you think it should, you can
turn on scripts for one domain at a time. I have seen some web pages
containing scripts from 10 or more domains. Right click on the new icon
at the bottom of your Firefox window that has a blue S. You can see the
domains that the web page is trying to run scripts from. I recommend
you select Temporarily allow x for only the smallest number of domains
that you need to accomplish your task. If you are regularly visiting a
page and allowing its scripts to run, only then select Allow x. I
rarely run any scripts, and I am very picky about which ones I do run.
It makes web browsing much more secure, but many people are not willing
to go to the trouble.
Since you probably won't choose to allow scripts from yahooips.com,
then those scripts won't bother you in the future.
Good luck,
Ralph
