Oy. Oh well. I did hope it would work because the initial OS X
installer ran fine.

Yes, I tried having Xorg configure the card itself, but it just stuck
on the internal ATI card. When I did an Xorg -probeonly it only saw
the internal ATI, so I suspect if it can't see it, it can't use it. I
did set up BootX to use the MSI driver, so I don;t think that's the
issue. I found someone's xorg.conf file for the Twin Turbo, and tried
using it, forcing Xorg to use the hardware by setting the BusID to
the ID the MSI card had in lspci. Still no go, Xorg claimed it
couldn't find a valid configuration and croaked (well, fell back into
Ubuntu's "low graphics" mode, which is essentially the same thing
since the screen remains blank). I eventually gave up on Linux and
moved on to OS X, because all of the sources of info I found were
saying that even if you got Xorg running with the IMS card, it would
break if you looked at it funny. I'd prefer to hand off a more robust
system to someone else. (That, and handing the system over to a Linux
newbie would cause issues when they tried to install a kernel upgrade
package, and thus cause BootX issues...)

I need to get rid of the system soon... I'll look into getting the
adapter, but if I can't get one in short order, I'll just have to
reformat it using OS 9.1 and call it a day.

Thanks for the help!

Gary
