Hello Macworld, I have a problem with the following combo. Apple Aperture ON Powermac G5 Quad 4GB PC2 3200 DRAM 1 x 2 Tb HDD 7200rpm Seagate sata. 512mb Video Display 50 percent free disk space for Aperture to cache on. Mac OSX 10.5.8 Aperture Ver 2.1.4 System is cleanand mac test pro reports no faults.
I have 42 projects loaded into Aperture and one project contains the Kingsley Africa Boundless Expedition with 8944 CR2 Raw Eos 5 images mixed with a few IXUS Jpegs of the Entire expedition. All the projects barring this one load instantaneously when addressed. The "Boundles" project takes 3 Looong minutes to load b4 I can begin with anything. Its a long wait. Nothinglike this prob on the Apple Aperture discussion groups, so I wondered if anyone had experienced this. Onthe first week of loading these files (Boundless) project, everything was fine. After I copied the Aperture library to a larger drive the "BVoundless" project became irritating. What is Aperture doing with the 8944 files to take 3 minutes. Is it re-indexing or thumbnailing them... is these a solution. Help plzz..
