3 is faster than 2. Trust me, I painfully worked on 2, using my Ti 400.

I agree with you, they could fix the contrast, though I don't experience 
it as severe as you do. I don't think you could make it "more 
contrasty". Perhaps this is something you could send the developers. Or, 
perhaps there may come a time when one could download themes for T-Bird.

There use to be a plugin that let you re-arrange the folders and 
accounts. Perhaps when it comes back, it would have this option of 
changing the text.

Global settings apply to all accounts, and local only to particular 
accounts...that's how I understand it. I hope this helps. On your 
suggestion, when T-bird 2 was a mess, I went to Eudora. I came back and 
decided to sweat it out with T-bird. I'm glad I did. I have up to 6,000 
of group mail, plus several accounts...all running without a problem. I 
shut T-bird down only to install an upgrade.
