As someone else mentioned, just get a USB2.0 card reader. My preference for adapters like this is to get the simplest possible - ie not even a multi-card reader , just a simple reader that takes CF cards and nothing else ( unless of course you need SD or other cards to be read as well ). Something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/COMPACT-FLASH-CF-CARD-READER-WRITER-USB-2-0-4-CANON_W0QQitemZ220549025611QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Drives_Storage_Internal?hash=item3359bf0f4b
You can also use a CF card as a temporary hard drive too as I do with some of my older powerbooks via a PCMCIA card like this http://cgi.ebay.com/PCMCIA-Compact-Flash-CF-Card-Reader-Adaptor-for-Laptop_W0QQitemZ260546248924QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca9c440dc I have OS9, OS10.2 and OS10.4 on a partitioned16gb CF card that I use for an emergency boot drive with TechToolPro and DiskWarrior on. Also make sure that the card reader can handle the type and capacity of the CF card. Some older ones will only read Type I cards up to 4 or 8Gb not Type II and bigger. I have a second 4Gb CF card that I use in my even older powerbooks for booting into OS7.6 and OS8.6. Then you can get IDE to CF readers that some guys use in towers too - sort of like a retro SSD solution that seems to be getting more popular for MacBooks and MacBookPros. http://cgi.ebay.com/Compact-Flash-CF-to-IDE-Adapter-40-Pin-Male-Card_W0QQitemZ170440182967QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item27af06ccb7 Hmmm, I may just get one of the last sort to try myself !
