Firewire or use ethernet. For firewire, you need to boot the G4 into Target Disk Mode (hold T on boot.) The G3 might have TDM if its an iMac, all the other G3s (desktops, not sure about laptops) don't have it. For ethernet, you want to plug them into a router or whatever, turn file sharing on on one of them, and access it with the other.
