Mozilla announced they will drop tiger for future Firefox releases.
This is a great example of the press creating FUD for the frack of it!
The announcement, by the Mozilla Foundation, was put out back in
September 2009 -- 5 MONTHS AGO! But the press is only just now
creating panic, er a ad revenue, with it.
So, will Tiger using folks be forced to move up to Leopard?
Firefox 3.6 -- and all it's upcoming .x updates -- fully support Tiger.
It is the Mozilla development trunk (aka Minefield), that will become
Firefox 3.7, that has moved on to use the newer compiler and
frameworks -- which require OS X 10.5 or newer.
This is no big deal. There will still be updates in the 3.6.x fork
for a while. And of course, there are quite a few other browsers
that run just fine on Tiger!
