Unless the 2nd bay has some sort of PATA to SATA converter, there should be no way for a SATA drive to even be connected. Clearing that up would be a great help to the group. If I am correct about a PATA to SATA converter, then perhaps there is some incompatability between the drives, converter, and the Mini.

Yes, I removed my superdrive and I put a 2nd PATA hard drive bay.
It's a strange thing because, if I use a 500GB SATA hard drive the system doesn't boot, if I use a 80GB SATA hard drive the system boot instead, but it doesn't recognize any 2nd hdd.
At the moment heat is not a problem, because I didn't rebuild the Mini :)

Any ideas?

Thanks
