If yer like me, you've been using NetNewsWire to view a bazillion RSS feeds...

This is all Bruce's fault, you know. He puts us on to these cool apps, that clutter up our brains.

I've noticed recently that NetNewsWire is getting slower and slower. Slower to check the feeds. Slower to respond when I hit the "Mark All As Read" button. And slower to view individual pages.

The key tho, is the file "NewsItemStatus.sqlite3". That's the SQLite database used to keep track of your feeds. On my system, it was over 100 MB!!! That's way to big. And par for SQL databases, it's probably a mess internally. Trashed it, launched NetNewsWire, and wow! Fast! Responsive! Back to it's old chipper self!

Very cool! I'd noticed some slowdown, but I'd attributed that to network issues....Thanks Dan!

(Also send that info as a bug report to Newsgator...there's the 'Provide Net NEws Wire Feedback' item in the NNN menu.)
