I didn't know there is a limit to Menu Bar items. You can have more if you use any of the 3rd party menu items like MenuMeters. These 3rd party menu items all must add a small hack (called Menu Extra Enable or MenuCracker) so that non-Apple Menu Bar items work. This also evidently ups the # available. You can install Menu Extra Enable or MenuCracker alone and either should enable more items.
You can reorder them by Command-drag. Delete by Command-dragging off the bar. I deleted one and the Apple Script Icon popped in
Now you can get the deleted one back, and any more you want. I count 15 in my Menu Bar now.
