My early 2005 dual 2.3 G5 uses a normal Airport Extreme card
Opps! I see from your other posting that yours is a Late 2005, so my
information is likely wrong and doesn't apply. You likely need the
special card. I'd forget about it and get the PCI card, although your
Late 2005 should use PCIe cards rather than PCI-X, which aren't
backwards compatible with normal PCI, you'd need a PCIe card.
Also, I'm not certain there is a naming convention for these two types
of PowerMac G5, but I will suggest one for future use. My "dual 2.3
GHz" G5 has two CPUs, each a single-core G5 CPU. Your "2.3 GHz dual"
G5 has a single CPU with a dual-core G5 CPU. My suggestion is to
differentiate these as I have already done, the "dual" comes 1st for
the Early 2005 with two CPUs, and the "dual" comes 2nd for the Late
2005 with a single CPU. Alternatively, you could use "dual-core" for
the Late 2005, or you could always state "Late 2005".
