I have a dual processer 450 G4 PowerMac with 1gb of memory. How big of an improvement in performance will i get if I upgrade to 2gb?
I really don't know ... guessing here ... 1GB is a nice size. Would have to experiment. Mactracker says 2GB for OS X, 1.5GB for OS 8, 9, if I picked right dual 450.
What type of HD do you have? 7200rpm? It matters a good deal ... buffer size on the drive, too.
Could do the firmware hack to be able to exceed 128GB limit, if not already taken care of otherwise. Having additional space can boost performance.
