My nephew gave me his 800 MHz iMac--the one with the hemispherical base and articulated arm. Because it's quiet, I use it for a music server with a connected stereo system. It has a 320 Gb HDD and 1 Gb RAM (new from OWC). I did A&R of Tiger.

Everything seems to work great, except when listening to Pandora, it will kernel panic. Sometimes it will run an hour or so, but will always end in panic. Logs give no clues. My gut instinct tells me to suspect Flash, due to its poor implementation on PPC Macs and heavy use on pandora.com.

The latest Opera works best. Firefox will consume more and more memory until it bursts into flames (a slight exaggeration).

Has anyone else had this trouble, and what did you do to fix it?

Thanx,
V Mabus
