I didn't keep details of the sellers ( both items have been deleted off ebay 
)but the PCMCIA to CF adapter was a no-name cheap one.
You don't really need an expensive one ( $35+) as they are a simple board with 
just pins and wires to connect one to the other. A PC only card will work in 
any laptop including Macs that adhere to the PC card protocols.
Just make sure it can read either Type l , Type ll or both types of cards ( 
depends on which variety CF card you buy of course )

The CF card though was a known brand of reasonable speed.

Make sure the card reader can read the size of CF card you buy ( some of the 
early ones could only read 2Gb and 4Gb.
Mostly though if you stick to Kingston, Transcend, SanDisk etc you should be 
fine.
