Our local music department at my college is going to be acquiring a PowerMac G5 dual 2.7 GHz soon, and since I'm the one who'll likely be called upon to diagnose and/or treat any problems with it (our only Mac tech guy is a good forty-minute drive away at our flagship campus, and he doesn't come up here very often), I'd like to know right up front—what is this model like to work with? It's replacing a G4 Digital Audio (at long last!) for transcription use with Finale 2008, so I'm not too worried about it not being fast enough. I'd just like the major issues and irritations (or joys, hopefully)—little idiosyncratic problems are the least of my worries.
