No. My dual 2.3 G5 w/10.5.8 works with RipIT and all other applications after the recent Security Update.
I did have troubles with the Security Update. If I remember, it stalled during the initial restart and became non-responsive. Next restart stalled again. A Safe Boot went OK, and the subsequent normal restart seemed OK. Everything checked out OK with Disk Utility, and I've had no further problems so far.
