Oh ... I saw Kris Tilford say this in another post ... it reminded me
another possible fix after an upgrade:
Do a Safe Boot, and then a Restart:

Wish I remembered that this last time ... I had a blinking mouse and
pulsing blue screen ... some kind of cycle that said something about
"501" couldn't be contacted ...
