This happened when I had just too much plugged into my quicksilver. Since
the Apple ADC monitor was supposed to be less clunky, Apple decided to get
all of it's power from the system itself, instead of an external power
supply such as an outlet. With this stress on the Power supply box (even
with the added 3 volts (making it 28 volts DC), running WAAAAAY too may
programs at once that demand alot of power or years of usage could kill it.
Basically, you have a dead power supply box. Your info and everything else
is pretty good, but not the power supply box. If you're looking at eBay, you
are looking at a no prob $40 replacement. If you want to buy it new....
You're probably gonna run into about $170 to replace it. Taking the old one
out and the new one in is going to be a royal pain in the butt, because you
have to take out sooo many components just to get to the power supply.
Here's a tip from what i've learned from Macs: When using a monitor, don't
ever use an ADC monitor, because although they are stylish and have great
graphics, they might wear out your Power Supply Box faster than you can
think of it. That is, if you had the standard 340W power Supply Box. I
ordered a modified 650W Power supply box, and it has been running smoother
than a whistle ever since.

As for the computer.... Nice job Mr.Quicksilver! Now I can add you to my
list of over 1,200 quicksilvers that supposedly "died" and got fixed for the
same reason.
