Check the obvious...is the power cord plugged in all the way? I've run into a 
few systems and monitors that needed a firm shove into the socket to ensure 
that it always worked. Is the power strip or socket it's plugged into working?

Despite what mark says you cannot kill a power supply by 'running too many 
programs', but QS power supplies do have a significant failure rate.
