My G5 won't let me install my Photoshop CS3 discs . . . just spits it out.

Same for ProTools LE 7 disc. Just spit it out.

Installs from Apple will work, but it's almost as if all other brands won't install.

Any ideas?

A Google search shows lots of others with similar problems:

It appears to be bad firmware. They say this is an Apple clone of a Sony DRU-500A and that it can be cross-flashed to the stock Sony firmware that had more support than the OEM Apple firmware. I think this is your only avenue, other than getting a newer DVD-RW, which may be a good idea since all the firmware I see is from 2002, which predates much of the modern disc media.
