How do I find out about my video card? I don't see anything under the
system prefs. I have 2 hookups on the back of my mac. I'm guessing one
is VGA.

If you drop the door down on your ( I presume G4 ) Mac and have a look
at the side of the card it should have something like Rage Pro or Radeon
7500. That will tell you which card it is.

That is iffy at best. For some reason PCI card manufacturers don't seem to want to mark their cards. Some cards are identified but most aren't directly. Sometimes you can tell if you know what to look for.

You can also go into "About This Mac" , then "More Info", then click on
the "Devices and Volumes" tab.

This is a better method.

That depends on the OS Version. If it's Leopard at least you can click on Graphics / Displays under Hardware and usually get more direct info (it will tell you what model of card by name).

That will list all the cards you have in your Mac.
Mine is
Slot-2
Card Type display
Card Name ATY,BlueStar
Card Model ATY,RV100
Vendor ID 1002
Device ID 5159
ROM# 113-85505-110
Revision 0
Card (Video) Memory 32 MB

which is basically an ATI Radeon 7000 32mb card

If you still don't know what card you have at this point plug the Vendor ID and Device ID into a Google search (the two 4 digit numbers with a space in between) and see what pops up.
