Well you can try the technique I used when my laptop drive bit the dust. pop the drive into a sturdy ziplock baggie (along with some silicon dry rite packs if you have 'em) into the freezer for several hours at least. Pop it out attach it (It MASSIVELY helps to have one of these <http://tinyurl.com/2dwcchw> which I've mentioned a few thousand times :-) and get data off of it until it chokes.
