The Finder thing worked out as you suggest

I'm not using Intel and DU indicates the drive is Apple Partition
Mapped.
It did require minor repair, which I did
DU also indicates the P#1 is bootable.

However, it still does not show up in the Systems Pref StartUp volume
window.
