Greetings,
We have digital AV tapes that were recorded with our home cam-
corder that we want to burn to DVD. We have a G5 iMac running Tiger.
Do we need additional software? Do we need additional hardware?
Thanks,

Hi Larry,
What brand and model, etc. is the Camcorder? Do you know if you can
connect it to you iMac with an ilink (IEEE-1394) (firewire cable big
connector on one end and small on the other) see picture of one here
( http://www.mycablemart.com/store/cart.php?
m=product_detail&p=1884). Note: I do not work for this company, it
was the first good link to a picture that i found.
Do you have a copy of iMovie v 5.0 or above installed on this iMac?
Or some other kind of video software?
If you have both of these than it is very simple to transfer the
video from the tape to your iMac and than burn as a DVD. Look at the
documentation for both your camcorder and for iMovie and it should
walk you through it quite easy.
If not email me off list and I can provide you with more specific
instructions. I have done this several time but it has been a while
and I will need to have a quick review myself before i write up
specific instructions.

Mike
