Rich, Maxing out the memory is a good idea. I mean, 896Mb is good, but 2 gigs is great. So you are on the right track there.
SATA hard drives are bigger, cheaper and faster. Which means, if she gets a SATA PCI card (which are about $50), she can both break the 128GB barrier and add a 1 TB hard drive. Or two. She could also get an external Firewire drive, also with unlimited storage. That's definitely another way to go, maybe cheaper than the SATA PCI card and an internal SATA drive. Good luck!
