Yes, you do need to be more clear. I'm guessing you want to cut the
wires from the power supply that go to one of the standard molex power
jacks, and splice an SATA power cable in its place? If this is what
you're asking about, my reply is: Use the cheapo adapter. You'll make
a mess of splicing the wires, and probably short out your power supply
with some bonehead mistake. Use the adapter, that's what they're made
for, they work. I use several in my older computers with no problems.
