Hi all,

I just pulled the original BenQ CD-Writer in my MDD because of a tray
problem and replaced it with the trusty Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-108 from my
beige MT. Now there is no more bong at startup. I liked the bong
because it is the same as that of my good ole Quadra 840av ...

It doesn't matter if I start Panther, Tiger or OS9, no bong ever. I
checked the Sound Panel and Startup Sound pane which I use to turn
down the bong. Both are OK and I can hear the Alerts through the
internal speakers.

Any ideas anyone? TIA.

Another thing: The older Pioneer DVR-108 shows firmware revision 1.18
whereas the newer DVR-116D shows 1.09. AFAIK rev. 1.09 is the latest
region-free firmware, isn't it?

Regards, Jörg.
