The hard drive has been zeroed.
You will also get this error if the hard drive is formatted with the wrong file system, such as MS-DOS, or is messed up. Boot from the installer, run disk utility, go into the partition tab and re-partition the drive, making sure that the format is HFS+ (Journaled). Just select '1 partition' from the drop down menu at the bottom. Look again at the installer disk, have someone ELSE look at it (seriously, I have stared and stared at the wrong disk before, and thought it was the right one), try a different G5 restore set. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
