Anyway, the thermal paste which includes diamonds, either natural or manufactured, is a superior product, which simply uses the gem's inherent properties to conduct heat better than competitive products.

Still, for all but the most demanding application, white silicone grease is probably good enough.

Well that's good to know because Fry's keeps the diamond product in stock and I'm getting low on it so no confusion next time to buy.

I have noticed that Apple used a thick paste on the G4 PowerBooks, I assume this is because the possible flexing and ambient temperature changes of the components could break the thermal contact, therefore I use just a touch more on them.
