Can you import other movies? My very first guess is to look at the movie itself. Have you deleted iMovie's prefs file? Start the computer in safe mode (holding down the shift key while booting) this clears a bucnha carches that might be causing the issue. Create a new user account on the computer, log in as that user and try inporting it...this will tell you if the problem is iMovie or the system (or the movie, again) or something in your user account. What does the Crash report log say? What does the System Log say?
