The fan thing is normal then. That at least makes my Yosemate act like normal.

The G3 (750) optimized builds of Firefox and Camino work correctly for me. 
Don't know about the performance they used to have. And yes, forgot to clearly 
mention, I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11 with latest security fixes.

PCI Extreme only up to 10.4.3? Oh dear!

I agree that spending valued money for a CPU upgrade may not be worth it. I'll 
at least try the PCI Radeon 9250 upgrade then.

Thanks for the hint to use Automator. I'll give it a try.
