I didn't mean that a Quicksilver was inordinately slow but right out of the box a MDD has certain advantages that you'll never get no matter how much you upgrade a Quicksilver. 167mhz bus speed, faster RAM and more RAM are just 3 of them. Start with a faster machine and if you feel like upgrading, you'll go even further. Incidentally, my MDD beats that geekbench score by almost 100 points and it's a long way from the fastest MDD out there
