I bought one of these "old" Mac Pros end of year. My reason was that I wanted to run Leopard 10.5. If the RAM, GBs, Processor Speed, work for you, and the savings are significant, do it. Mine was only $1995 with 1.5 years of AppleCare left. There is nothing like having 4 hard drives on line, 2 DVD burners and being able to get into the computer and work on it yourself.
