when I was sorting equipment I used to save the latest, greatest versions of computers. It turned out, in retrospect, that the very first models have the most value and are the most collectible. Save the IIIs and anything connected with them, they are pretty rare. Apple][ s are the most valuable, other than the apple 1. The Mac 128 is quite the collectible as are the Mac IIs & fx and are worth saving. If you are having trouble deciding go with the earlier model.
