hi bruce that worked, except the transition to pdf messed up the original layout (business cards in this case) but at least i can futz around with it and maybe get it right.
ideally it would be great IF three were an os9 printer driver for this printer (doubtful, i looked on epson's site), but i thought there was a way to print from classic to an osx system. i tried print sharing over a network from another mac but i couldn't get it to talk to the printer.
