Our B&W 450 (Tiger) could do everything we needed until

Unfortunately, when we got the QS home we discovered that it,

up?)
Advice on what to check, replace or fix first?
RAM.
You might try reseating it, after blowing out the dust, and see if
that helps.
If there are 2 or more sticks, you might try running with 1, then the
other.
A decent RAM check app is memtest which is part of the applejack
program, a good one to have installed and use.
Reattaching the ATA/IDE cable can help also, making sure no pins are
bent. Is the hard drive relatively new? or perhaps, failing?
