A G5 (DP 2 GHz) purchased from the LEM swap list a few weeks ago worked quite well for a while, the only issue was the front USB port didn't work. A few days ago it just stopped powering up. The front power button gets me nothing, no chime, no LEDs, nothing. The power supply still makes the usual single click when I unplug it/plug it in, so I'm hoping it's just the front panel that's gone bad. I found a pinout that shows front panel pin #2 as ground and pin #13 as power button, so I'm thinking that if I momentarily bridge pins 2 + 13 it should bypass the front switch and start up the G5. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried this? I'm not sure I want to be the first.
