Are you serious? 10^9 files requires a 30 bit integer to count them. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Apple's disk image structure can't handle it with 32 bit unsigned integers.

No, 1 billion was a gross exaggeration. I wasn't being serious and literal. Always on the lookout for dry senses of humor, I'm not quite sure if *you're* being serious.
