The fast Beiges, such as 333 MHz, were usually made as Rev. 2 or Rev. 3 machines, and both of these have support for slave IDE drives, hence you can install a later Zip. The earliest Zips in Beiges were SCSI because of two reasons: 1) Apple could not get slave drives to work on their IDE channels, and 2) Iomega's slave Zips did not work properly but their SCSI Zips did. Lots of stuff was flaky in the first generation G3s, both desktop and laptop. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
