My QS 2001 733 machine had a mystery repeated power down problem - I
checked the system logs and the last entry was always Power Management
initiating shutdown - I removed and cleaned a lot of dust out of the power
supply replaced it and still got the shutdowns. I then swapped power
supplies between my two quicksilvers 2002 and 2001 the problem has never
manifest itself again in either machine. Although when the 2001 power
supply is off it makes very small chirrup noises like a cricket is living
in the machine.
