APC upses have had user-replaceable batteries for over ten years now.
Batterys of the kind used are generally
available at places like Batteries Plus. take
the old one in to the store to be sure you get the right one
I agree with the above.
A good ups is expensive with APC the brand that
is used in schools and colleges.
They cost something like £250 in the UK and so are a one off purchase in which
you purchase a new battery.
I have a belkin which cost £100 but the battery
is not user replaceable and i had to bend
the metal cage the old battery was in to get it out.
When this battery goes I will try and find the money for an APC.
Longer term it makes more sense,
