It was an oversight. They meant OS 10.5 is the minimum system requirement, and Intel is also required. I assume this means it won't run on Tiger Intel? If you need Firefox 9 on your PPC Mac you'll need to use TenFourFox instead. I've had repeatable crash problems with v.9.0, and there isn't a 9.0.1 version of TenFourFox yet, so I'd use 8.0.1 for now, available at the "older versions" link on the TenFourFox page.
