A few years ago I tried to see how much I could get out of an old Smurf. I put in a Sonnet G4 500 MHz processor upgrade, a SCSI card with a pair of 15K stripped RAID drives, and a GeForce 6200 PCI video card flashed with a custom Mac ROM. I added an extra case fan to blow out the heat from the drives.
