I have two and one had the same issue. Like you, I tried every variant of glue but as you found out the connection points are just to tenuious to hold.
My solution? Went to a local discount outlet and bought a small (in this case wrought iron) 3-D tripod picture holder. One that allowed the monitor bottom to nestle in the holder while the back adjustable leg gave stability. You might find something like this at a local art supply retail store. If you find the right fit you might think about mounting it on a wall -- saves desk space.
