If you're having trouble installing 10.5 using a G4 machine keep in mind the processor speed has to be minimum 867MHz I don't think I saw mention of the G4 specs of your machine. So you can install it using any G4 867MHz and up and all Intel's up to and including the Core 2 Duo's and then it will boot the slower G4's also the way t get it on the internal drive is with Carbon Copy Cloner. That is the way to get systems on machines that otherwise can't boot the install disc's. I have a Mac Pro that has 10.5.8, 10.6.8 and 10.7.2. I had to use CCC to get the 10.5.8 on it because it won't boot the 10.5 installer.
