I have set up a G4 DA 733 MHz, 1.5GB RAM Mac with OS 9.2.2 to run old legacy PageMaker Files. Some of my clients still need revisions to files that were created 10-15 or more years ago. Rather than convert them to InDesign files I decided this is a better way to go,
For some reason a retail 9.1 install disk would not install on the DA so I used the Apple NetBoot version to to install 9.2.2. I removed two extensions that had some reference to NetBoot and the system booted into a more modern desktop, a sort of a blue/gray version of OS X, really nice eye candy. However, upon boot I get the message: "Macintosh Manager cannot find any servers You need to locate the Macintosh Manager server to use." I hit the "OK" button After more dialogue boxes and buttons I get:"Enter the NetBoot password...". After I enter the default password all is fine, I'm in 9.2.2 Is there anyway to avoid this dance with NetBoot queries when I boot into 9.2.2? Perhaps there is another extension that should be disabled? Or how can I locate the Macintosh Manager? Suggestions appreciated, thanks --glen -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
