No. The 'Flash hack' only works in cases where a site requires a higher version, but doesn't actually require the newer features. Vimeo is not one of those.

Vimeo. *smirk* Stuff on Vimeo, direct or embedddded, plays like @#$ %p on both our Macs and PCs here. Stutters, stalls, refuses to even start sometimes, missing audio, ..... garbage site.

Vimeo does have some bandwidth issues, but the video itself, and their having every video available in HTML5 is nice. I like Vimeo because of the number of full HD videos available. I normally overcome Vimeo's poor streaming by simply downloading the video I wish to see, I've recently been using RealPlayer Downloader 12.0.0(1569) which seems to work with most sites including Vimeo.

Here's my favorite Vimeo HD 720p video of a women's cyclocross in Namur, Belgium, it's a short 8 minute work of art which plays fine as a download on my G5, but struggles as a stream. This video plays both directly from Vimeo & embedded on my PPC G5 w/10.5.8 under Safari Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3) as a Flash stream using Vimeo's "Moogaloop Player v.5.2.25" which says "About Flash Player 10" meaning it doesn't use the newer Flash Player requirements. There's a link at the bottom of the video for the HTML5 stream instead, so you can do whatever works for you. For this video to be fully appreciate on a PPC Mac it needs to be downloaded (193.6MB) which takes some time:
