Sorry for the slow reply, but I got called out on a job. The only non-stock
PCI card would be the SCSI card: Orange Micro Grappler SCSI 906F Bios
Version 1.30.
Cameron, you mentioned "this is shutting down" not sleep correct. Upon
closer inspection, I removed the screw holding in one of the hard drives
and it is still running even after the computer appears to shut down. In
other words the screen goes blank, yet the fans still run, HD's etc. so I
guess it really isn't shut down. Now
there is a new development as the computer will not boot up at all and only
goes to a blank gray screen, no apple appears at all. Sometimes it goes to
the old style Mac icon that blinks with a question mark as if it does not
find the OS. The fans still continue to run as soon as the machine is
plugged in and the little red light near the ram chips still lights up as
before, however no boot at this time. It does chime, however about 5-6
seconds after the start button is pushed, which seems to be longer than in
the past when it was working fine. I cannot boot to a CD or DVD to try and
run the utilities, nor will it boot to safe mode when starting with the
shift key held down. If I boot it with the option button held down, it
shows only one of the two hard drives, the one with OSX 10.4.11 and does
not show the one with OS 9.2 however the cursor (mouse) does not move and
stays stationary on the screen. Now I am completely stumped and have no
idea what to try next......any suggestions?
