Hello David:

You might try unconnecting/reconnecting the hard drive cables at all connections, same with the RAM and the video card. Do you hear drive activity? Is the heatsink on good? Try resetting the PRAM, or just pull the battery and reset the PRAM (leave the battery out). Let the G4 sit for an hour or two and try starting. If that doesn't work, disconnect the power plug for 10 seconds, replug and restart (power supply problem). Check hard disk on known good system.

Leave PRAM battery out and system completely removed from all power for 4 hours, then try again.

That's all for now. Good luck.

Bob

Start with the PRAM battery. They tend to bleed out. Should read 3.6v with
a multimeter.

If you have another G4 Tower try swapping everything (you swapped
the video card, maybe try the hard drive next?) one at a time till it
boots up then you will know what's wrong?

Subject: PowerMac G4 Quicksilver

I have a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver that I had sitting for about a year or two. I went to see if it still works but it turns on but that is all. Do you have any suggestions on what I should check for as to why it won't
work? As far as I remember it did work before.
